PhotoCompressor is a browser tool. The image bytes are read by the page you already downloaded and encoded there. We do not operate an upload bucket for those pictures, and we do not have an account system that could store them.
Images and metadata
Dropping, pasting or selecting a file keeps it in memory in the tab. A download is created locally. Closing the tab discards the previews. Because the picture is redrawn, EXIF and GPS are not copied into the result.
We cannot see the photo, its name, or its contents. Do not use this as a promise about screenshots of the page itself, which are under your control.
Google Analytics
Every page loads Google Analytics 4 with measurement ID G-D058TK2HCD. Google may set cookies such as _ga to distinguish browsers and to measure Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS, TTFB) that we send as events, tagged by page template. That tells us whether the compressor is fast. It does not include your images.
You can block or delete these cookies in the browser, use a content blocker, or use Google’s opt-out approaches described at Google Analytics opt-out.
Google AdSense and ads.txt
Every page also loads Google AdSense for publisher ca-pub-7319698281934814. The script is https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js. AdSense may use cookies to serve and measure ads, including on sites Google partners with. We do not hand AdSense your photos, because we never receive them.
The file ads.txt at the site root authorizes that publisher ID: google.com, pub-7319698281934814, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0. Ad settings for your Google account live at Google ad settings.
We do not draw an ad slot into the layout ourselves. If the AdSense account enables automatic ads, Google may insert units. That can move the page; we do not control the creative.
Cookies
The compressor does not need a cookie to function. A language suggestion remembers a dismissal in sessionStorage on your device, which is not sent to us. Analytics and advertising cookies come from Google, as described above.
Contact
Privacy questions go to [[mail|[email protected]]]. Please do not attach the photo you were compressing; we do not need it and email would then store it on a mail server.
