Photos saved as PNG are the most common reason for a 15 MB “image” file. PNG is lossless, which is right for logos and screenshots and wasteful for photographs. Converting a photographic PNG to JPG at quality 85 usually cuts it by 80–95% with no visible change.
This page sets the output to JPEG and the quality to 85. Drop one PNG or a folder’s worth, and download them as a ZIP.
How to convert PNG to JPG
Add PNG files
Drop, browse or paste. Screenshots copied to the clipboard paste in as PNG and can be saved as JPG here.
Keep quality at 85
That looks the same as the PNG for photos. Lower it if you need a smaller file, or set a target size.
Check transparent areas
Anything see-through becomes solid. If the PNG is a logo on a transparent background, convert to WebP instead.
When to convert PNG to JPG
Photos saved as PNG
Exports from some editors, phones and screenshot tools save photos as PNG. JPG is the right container and far smaller.
Forms that only take JPG
Many upload portals list JPG only. Converting here avoids uploading the image to a converter site first.
When to keep PNG
Screenshots full of text, diagrams, and logos with sharp edges look worse as JPG: letters get faint halos. Keep those as PNG, or compress them on the PNG compressor page instead.

PNG to JPG questions
Does converting PNG to JPG lose quality?
JPG is lossy, so some detail is discarded. At quality 85 that loss is not visible in photographs. Text and sharp edges show it sooner.
What happens to the transparent background?
JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas become a solid fill. Use WebP if you need to keep it.
Can I convert many PNGs to JPG at once?
Yes. Drop them all; each one is converted and you can download a single ZIP.
Is it safe for private screenshots?
The conversion happens in your browser. The PNG is not uploaded to PhotoCompressor.
